After a long 263k miles the oe starter went out on me. And since you're already looking at this starter you're as broke as I am trying to keep the Ole girl on the road. So I bought the best reviewed starter in the most reasonable price. Bolted right in, cranked up the 6.0 with no problems, may even say better than the one I pulled out before it was toast. Worth the price.

Very fast start, exactly what my truck needed

The starter has been in use for several months now and seems to be working. However, the solenoid broke off during installation. I had to replace it with the one off my old starter. It's made with cheap materials. If I ever have to replace it I will buy an American made product.Update: The starter lasted only ten months and had to be replaced. I bought the one from Napa for $50 more and can tell a world of difference. My F250 diesel now starts within a second, whereas with this starter as time went by it would take multiple tries to get the truck started. I thought there was something else wrong with my truck since the starter wasn't even a year old. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this starter. The materials are cheap and it will not last.

I feel that it's a very good unit. the only thing I would say is that the starter solenoid is probably not a very good quality but if I have to buy a new one every year or two I won't complain because of how cheap the starter is.

I bought this for my 2004 6.0 Turbo Diesel, F-350. It fits perfectly. It does turn faster than the old one but that seems to be a common thing with aftermarket starters, based on what I read. I installed it several months ago (January) in Colorado, so it has had sub-freezing temps as well as low 80 degree temps. I have started it cold and after driving, so it was very hot. I have had no problems. Make sure you install it with the proper torque and use Blue locktite. (Never use Green!) You don't want those bolts getting lose, they are kind of a pain to remove and put in and you don't want to have to drill and tap or extract broken bolts like I did. Hence, the new starter.

My old starter was starting to make funny noises and my mechanic recommended a new starter soon. I checked and ordered one from DB. Removal and installation was easy once I figured out how to get the right socket/extension/socket handle on the bolt heads.The starter cranked the engine much faster and starts almost instantly!Slight problem- the starter would only crank the engine 2-3 times then heat up and not work at all ( I figured bad relay). Sent an email to DB and within the hour had a response: RMA approved, replacement shipped. Two days later back under the truck and 30 minutes later my truck is happy again.Highly recommend the company and the product. Been 3 months now and no issues.
