ADJ DP DMX20L 4 Chanel Dimmer Pack

Probably OK for incandescent lights, but for both fluorescent and LED lights it seems to leak enough current into them when off that they flash every few seconds. Even in "switch" mode, rather than "dimmer" mode.

I have used these dimmer packs for years but just recently purchased this item and it seems as though Elation has changed the amperage rating on this model. The photo and description says that it is 10A max per channel and 20A total. The one I received is the same model name and number yet now reads 5A per channel and 15A total. Not sure if this is a mistake with a batch of these or they actually changed the rating. I will be returning this item because of this because I use 10A loads a lot and need the output. This needs to be updated on Amazon to reflect the current rating.

I use DMX dimmers for concerts, stage shows, and special effects. I looked at dimmers that cost hundreds or thousands more. I don't have that kind of money to lay out for simple dimming. I have used these much-criticized "cheap" dimmers for years with no complaints. Recently I ruined a dimmer by accidentally running to many par cans at once. I know some guys can diagnose the issue and solder in a new $1.00 part-but not me. I bought this dimmer based on the Elation reputation plus the specs looked better than my previous dimmer. I have been told all the different brands are all made in the same place in China. They are either cheap copies with inferior components or they are good units that use quality components per the manufacturer's request. Here is what I found with this pack. The metal case is thicker than the cheaper versions I have owned. This is a plus since we abuse the dimmers at every event. The old case had hanger brackets that would bend over time...not this pack. The DMX address function is easy to use. This pack uses a digital display so you just select the address by pushing a button until the led displays the proper address. The product also functions as a stand-alone dimmer/flasher. If you are a DJ and don't manually program par cans, you can just set the pack to use one of the pre-programmed patterns. Just plug in your par cans, and the show goes on. Also note that this is also a SWITCH PACK. Cheaper dimmer packs act only as dimmers. You can't use a regular dimmer pack to run non-dimming lights like lasers, fog machines, and other effect lighting. This pack is programmable so that it will act as as a on-off unit. Say you want to control a spinning dance light, from a distance. Set the pack to act as a switch and you will have the ability to control your effect light through the dimmer pack and dmx controller. It is easy to do all of this. Just read the instructions. So far this dimmer has worked well for us. We would buy more units without a second thought.

This product is advertised at 10A/20A max. When i received it, its 5A/15A max. Don't buy this item if you need a 20A dimmer. False Advertisement on this item.

Quality elation brand DMX dimmer and/or switch pack, each of the four channels can be set to DIM or Switch mode allowing control of fixtures that might need either reliably and safely. Have used this in switch mode with several LED fixtures with no issues.

Versatile DMX pack. Can be used as a dimmer pack for PAR's ect, or as a switch pack for other lighting. My older Elation dimmers do one or the other only. Plus some other nice features.

No problems. exactly as represented.

Worked great, arrived fast and was cheap cheap (price wise). If I had to I would do it all over again....
