Goes on easily. Good cleanup. No detectable odor.

I use this product to enhance the acrylic paint color depth on my polymer clay earrings. It reacts well with the Sculpey oven bake clay. I read in a blog that it does not make your baked clay items sticky. It gives the colors more depth and a bit more gloss without sanding and buffing.

Great for water paints

I bought this to put over my clay piggy Banks after I have painted them with water paints. This stuff really makes it shine! I think it looks better on water paint versus acrylic paint, because I can tell the difference after it has dried. With water paints it looks brighter and sleeker but with acrylic paint it looks a little doll. But that's my opinion. This little bottle goes a long way. I usually add a few drops in one space and brush it out. You really don't need a big bottle of this to work on your project. Unless you have a very very large project to work on. The stuff goes a long way if you use it right.

Use thin layers for satin effect!

i really like this glaze for making clay charms, & the amount in the bottle is enough for multiple batches, especially if you don't do thick layers. I use more glaze for glossy finishes but using too much will lead to overspill or patches. But if you're using it right this works perfect & drys pretty quickly

Results were a little different than expected, but good product nonetheless...

I like this glaze. It's basically a semi-gloss sheen that goes on a bit milky, but dries clear. Coverage is quick and easy using a bristle brush or sponge brush, just be sure to clean it immediately (while it's still wet) to keep your tools from hardening. I've been happy with almost all of the Sculpey products I've bought so far!If you want high reflection (or for something to essentially look wet, like water or eyes), go for the glossy version. If you do not want light reflecting off of your clay work, this is not a matte finish. For my needs, using a different matte glue or spray finish works a bit better for "no shine" textures, like feathers and fur. This was a little more shiny than I had hoped for, but it seals and protects well. I will be using a few different techniques to "dull" this down on the project I used it for, like using an ultra fine grit sand paper and/or a matte spray for a less smooth finish. Overall, I think I will find many more uses for this glaze.

Awesome

The perfect glove for protecting my painted pieces, it does have a little shine, I found applying two coats adds more shine! But does a good job at protecting painted pieces!

Beautiful finish!

I used this to seal my polymer clay earrings and it is such a pretty finish! It’s satin so it’s not super matte but not glossy. It’s also thin in texture so it dries fast and the bottle will last a long time!

I wasn't happy with the Sculpey satin glaze. Dried hard & not a satin finish.

This was my 1st time using Sculpey glaze & I did not like it for the specific project I used it on. I got this Sculpey satin glaze because it was on the supply list for a plushie/amigurumi I recently crocheted as a gift. It was a small elephant with a balloon. The string of the balloon is made by tightly winding yarn around 16 gauge floral wire while super gluing it in place, then painting Sculpey glaze onto the balloon string. I honestly felt that the Sculpey satin glaze ruined the balloon string & made it look weird & it was very hard once it dried, & doesn't feel nice when you touch it. I really wish I had skipped the Scupley glaze. I'm sure Sculpey satin glaze works great for certain things, it was just unnecessary & a mistake to use it for the string on my project. My elephant came out great, but I should've left the balloon's string alone & not used the Sculpey satin glaze. I already made a replacement balloon with a new string with wire & yarn, but with no Sculpey glaze, but I already shipped the elephant, so I will either send a new balloon or bring a new balloon the next time I visit. It was very disappointing, & I wish I had made another balloon string without Sculpey glaze prior to shipping it. It probably works great on other projects, but it serves no purpose for the balloon string. It looked so much better without the glaze. I have a lot left, even though I got the smallest bottle. I'm sure I will find some use for it, but just not good for amigurumis/plushies. I'm unsure of what the reason was to even use any type of glaze on a balloon string, but lesson learned. Do not Sculpey glaze your plushie/amigurumi projects. Other than that, I think this Scupley satin glaze can be used successfully to enhance the finish, it just isn't right for my project.

Goes on smooth; stays on when dropped; does not chip

We recently decided to use this on our polymer clay on a rainy day. We watched a youtube video on how to create coasters. I decided to attempt this with my 5 and 8 year old. I was pleased to see that the glaze did not stick to my kitchen table while putting it on . When we waited for it to dry my 5 year old began to get impatient. I checked on it and she was very happy to see that it dries within 10 minutes. We did this last week and my 8 year olds friend dropped hers. Surprisingly enough it did not break and stayed shiny. The glaze applied evenly and shiny. The only downside is that it does not come with an applicator. But besides that it is amazing.
