Originally I rated this poorly, as the first 1 I received didn't work - so I thought. My mistake and I think others who said it didn't work, made the same mistake I did. It DOES work perfectly. This light is motion sensor activated, but ALSO light sensitive - so if you try to get it to work in the daytime or when lights are on in the room - it won't because it's not supposed to. put the lights out or go into a dark room and this device lights up beautifully and super bright! I owe the seller an apology for not looking a lot more closely at the directions, which actually did say that it would only work in the dark - the product turned out not to be defective at all, it was user error. I am going to make an educated guess that all the other buyers who rated it poorly didn't read the instruction closely either and/or used older batteries - because once I tried both lights in the dark, they were blindingly bright.As for the seller - WOW, excellent customer service. They saw my original review and immediately reached out to me to correct the situation and continued to stay in contact to make sure I received the replacement (at no charge of course). I have to say that I am actually extremely impressed and happy with this seller and this product.

I agree these are awesome little lights. I think many are all the same but what makes this particular one different from the others is the mounting clips provided. I think everyone is writing their review before they have the opportunity to change the batteries. Pulling the tightly held unit off these tiny thin clips totally destroys the clips. Then you'll get to figure out a different way to mount it. The magnetic strips provided on most other units may sound questionable but works much better. If you need to screw it down (for whatever reason), just run the screws through the magnetic strip. But these clips on this are super weak. Also, some units are being tweaked for light sensitivity to not trigger with a certain amount of light present. This is not one of those units. If using for a closet this will be perfect for you (with exception of the clips). If you want it in a lit bathroom (from whatever the light source), then this is not the best choice for you unless you want it triggered in the daytime.

The top reviewer is ranting about biased sampling because they had bad luck and one of their sensors being apparently faulty (mine works great and I paid too...). I could rant that my Amazon Basics shelves arrived damaged today, but I won't because I called Amazon and they've already shipped out a replacement unit and emailed my return label...simple resolution for relatively small problems in the grand scheme of things (that were solely to blame with the package handler at that). Bottom line, there are many options if you have a product that is sold through Amazon and is not as advertised or if you feel like you were scammed. I try to give people (insert any Amazon fulfilled seller here) the benefit of the doubt and not jump to conclusions despite wanting to connect hypothetical dots to suit human emotions. Product reviews are supposed to be about the product, period. If you have a problem with a seller or packaging then leave the appropriate reviews (those are Amazon's guidelines).I bought this thinking it was rechargeable, but I decided to count that aspect as a loss and find some use for it other than what I'd originally planned. The product didn't come with the metal clips, but that was resolved rapidly by sending me a whole new unit (and an upgraded one at that).This 20 light battery operated version has a unique slim profile that gives it some advantages compared to some of the bulkier type models. I don't like that there is no On/Off switch and I don't like the idea of buying batteries or investing in rechargeable AAAs when I know there are rechargeable models out there, but I can't count that against the light because that is how its function is advertised. Those are just my preferences and you may have lots of batteries (ideally rechargeable ones) laying around. You may not need the option to turn the light on for use as a backup flashlight because you already have tons of flashlights, but I enjoy multi-taskers. Regardless, after going out and buying an extra set of AAA batteries I'm very glad I did.I come home after dark but I don't use the wall switch to power a lamp (long story). It turns out that the molding around my door frame provides the perfect ledge for this LED light bar to sit on and it let's me see where I'm going instead of stumbling in the dark with my dog as he tries to pull me back outside on his leash.I'm happy with several of the different models of lights from different sellers for different reasons. I really like how slim this style is and how perfectly it rests above my door, and I like that the motion sensor works reliably and as advertised.I'll let the pictures speak for themselves (I'm not a professional photographer but you get the idea). The light reliably activates at around 12 feet away in this configuration and immediately when I open the door to come inside.

The first one I received put out a decent amount of light for it's size but it had some issues with the sensor working correctly. TCO Mall send a replacement that was much better than the first one. I'm very happy with their customer service.

The practice of giving away product to some people for 5 star reviews only to scam other people like myself out of money is a disgusting trend I've been noticing on Amazon far too often recently.I've purchase motion sensing lights from Amazon before and I thought that these would work similarly. You basically have to wave your hands in front of the sensor a bunch of times to get it to turn on. I ordered two lights and one of them is almost completely unresponsive. The lights illuminate well when they are lit, but the motion sensing is terrible which renders this product useless. They work just as bad if the room is pitch black, dimly lit, or fully illuminated.I've provided a link to the lights I've purchased in the past.
