Basilippo Extra Virgin Olive Oil Gourmet - 16.9 OZ / 500 ML - Early Harvest

I just got back from a 3-month extensive foodie trip in Spain and Portugal. I visited Basilippo olive oil farm and had a tasting there when I was visiting Seville in Andalusia. This is their early harvest organic olive oil with a more intense flavor. They told me that every year, the flavor profile is a little different because of the weather condition of that year. This year, (2016 harvest), it has a very prominent tomato leaf aroma. I really liked the olive oil when I was at the farm but couldn't bought any because I still had 2 months of travel ahead of me. I was really glad to see that it is available on Amazon and ordered a couple of bottles to see if it is the same as the one I tasted in Spain. It is! It is the 2016 harvest oil and has that signature tomato leaf aroma of the 2016 harvest. Their 2014 harvest oil won the gold medal in NYC's world olive oil contest. Really delicious olive oil. Highly recommended. I'm going to buy more!

Actually tasted this olive oil at their grove in Spain. The owner gave us a wonderful tour and explained the differences in olive oil and an early harvested olive oil is best for fresher tasting salads and dipping bread. Also, enjoyed the orange olive oil drizzled over chocolate ice cream. Nevertheless, I was tickled to see that I could order it all on Amazon.

My high school daughter went to Spain summer of 2019 and brought back this exact olive oil for us. I love it! Not over powering, it’s just perfect. I can’t tell you how happy I was to find it on Amazon. We have ordered and reordered and it’s been a year now. I will never buy grocery store oil again. By the way they told her in Spain that oil should be in a dark bottle, not clear or light color. Thank you so much for stocking this oil!

I would give this 10 stars if I could! I tried this olive oil when I was in Spain a couple years ago. It has a green apple grassy taste to it not that you would think grass would be tasty! I use this as a finishing oil to sprinkle over my dishes. I finish up with a splash of this on my bruschetta, my pasta, my vegetables, and gazpacho to name a few of my dishes. It just adds that finishing touch that makes the dish! Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for but I called a finishing Olive oil.

Love this oil but the new style bottle leaked all over and I lost a bunch of oil. There’s also no way to return/replace via this seller so writing an unfavorable review is my only option.Second bottle that this has happened!
