These are an easy, convenient way to make a cup of tea. I've used these for years. When the hinge pin wears out, they can often be repaired for a few more years of use.

I have used one daily for quite a number of months. I even use it for ground coffee. Once I found out tea bags can leach micro plastic fibers into your tea... I switched to loose leaf teas. It doesn't rust... But turns brown from the stains from the teas and coffee. You have to be smart when you load it...make sure There is no tea (or coffee grounds) on the rim when you close it.

be careful since if you over fill it with loose tea, sometimes the tea will swell up and escape. you should also be aware, if you are autistic like me, that you should be careful to wipe off the outside carefully, unless you aren't the type of autistic that has texture issues. about a 3rd full will work plenty with most lose tea that I personally have, and you can just brew more tea rather than getting a bunch of chunky tea. other than needing to be a bit carefull, as it isn't the best filter, it still does its job as long as you pay a bit more attention than just a tea bag.

Want a cuppa and maybe a rebrew or two? These things are great and don't open in the cup as the older "snap closed" types tend to do. Loads much quicker than balls and allows stirring with the leaves. These are very handy and are in constant use. Have a friend that likes tea? With three of these at this price give one to your buddy. When done, squeeze it open over recycling or the trash and give it a shake then a quick rinse and set it over to dry.
