EnviroFIRE EF001 Premium Pellet Stove Auger Feed Motor Envirofire 1 RPM CW Auger

This is lengthy and I apologize for the missive. I purchased this item as an alleged genuine Environ motor. The first noticeable distinction was the addition of power leads. But the most important issue was during operation. Prior to utilizing this replacement, I was burning a 40lb bag of pellets on Program #2, setting 1 every 24 hours. After installation, the burn rate increased to a whopping bag every 8-9 hours.Obtaining technical advice on this equipment at this time of year is an arduous journey to say the least. Due to technical assistance, I replaced the control card (directly from Environ). The hypothesis was that the timing chip was bad. This was a $354.00 proposition. It took roughly two weeks to arrive. This did not resolve the issue.I began timing the replacement auger. With a cold stove, it behaved as a 1 RPM motor. Over time, the RPM’s seemed to increase between 1.5 to 2 RPMs. I requested a new genuine Environ motor. It just arrived today and was sent for prior to Christmas. Upon installation and startup, the difference was readily observable. The stove burn is markedly less. This leads one to conclude there is a gearing issue. In addition, the genuine Environ motor does not have the additional lead wires. I suspect these motors are not genuine at all.Consumption rates are vastly different. The motor supplied by Pelletehead burned a 40lb bag on setting 1, Program 2 every 8-9 hours. Extraordinarily excessive. From Day one and prior to your motor replacement/installation, this stove under those conditions has burned a 40 lb bag of pellets between 24 to 26 hours.When I replaced your motor with the Environ motor (shipped directly from their factory), and under the conditions described above, the stove returned to it's normal rate of consumption. The bottom line for this issue us that your auger works. I do not, nor have I disputed this. It does not work properly. That is at the heart of the matter. Either the auger motor you supplied was mislabeled, someone grabbed the wrong motor and shipped it or the gearing is wrongPellethead did refund the entire amount. To their credit, but no explanation as to why the issue with the motor occurred.

I bought this as a replacement for my Enviro EF4 auger motor, which sounded like it was grinding rocks into sand every time it rotated. In comparison, this one is silent, and it was easy to install. I'd agree with the previous reviewer who said this one drops pellets more quickly than the original, even at the lowest setting, but unlike them I wasn't expecting an OEM motor. I didn't want to shell out for the price of an OEM motor for a stove this old, because this is the last thing I'll be replacing before I just buy a new stove. For my situation, this was a great purchase.
