Q: I buy my little 10# dog an inflatable 10" ball for us to play kickball. It lasts a week or so. Would this ball work? Is it "kickable"?

Hello! This ball is not meant for kicking or for obsessive chewers as it is hard plastic. We recommend the Push-n-Play as a a herding-type chase ball. If you're looking for a softer version we recommend the Jolly Soccer Ball (flexible) or the Bounce-n-Play (more firm but flexible).

Q: I have an over 100 pound black GSD, He gets bored very quickly with things his favorite toy right now is an old car tire, can they chew on this?

The ball is pretty tough. They can try and chew it but they can't really grasp the ball enough to do any damage. My GSD prefers to have the ball thrown for her to chase and then "herd" it back to me. It is her all time favorite toy. She bores quickly with most toys but not ever with the jolly ball. I always have to take the ball away from her. She never gets tired of it.

I am a dog trainer. This ball ships at 2.2 pounds. Your Sheltie will love this ball. Consider looking into Trieball. I have taught my Border Collie Treiball just for fun. You may want more than one. I bought the 14 in ball. The 10 inch would be best for your size dog.

My dog is the same. I recommend the Horseman's Pride Jolly Ball. I have a Pitbull & a lab; they both love it. A great plus is the handle they carry it around with in their mouths. If the ball is punctured, it retains it's shape.
