Good stand for my MacBook Pro
I haven't had a stand for my MacBook Pro before. I did a quick tour of previous reviews of different stands. I liked the look of this stand and I thought it would do the job. I found some mixed reviews of it mainly due to the quality of finish of the product but decided that I'd risk it. I figured that any small blemish wouldn't be the end of the world. I'm glad I bought this. The finish is fine and there are no finishing flaws. It holds my computer well and does what I need to to do. I think it looks more elegant than some other stands. I have it in its maximum height but that works fine for my 13 inch computer. You will need a remote keyboard as you can't type properly when it is on the stand and the stand will probably not take the repeated pressure of the MacBook being typed upon.

5-star worthy, held back by an expensive price tag
5-star worthy, held back by an expensive price tag.I bought this after shortlisting it with the Rain Design mStand. Since I bought the HiRise, I've since started using the mStand at work, and to be honest I don't think I'd be able to choose between the two, it would be simply down to preference.I've not had any issues with my laptop slipping off, but every time I do put my machine back on the stand I do have to spend a second or two lining it up. I have to do the same with the mStand though, as I can never put the laptop back in the exact same place. Similarly, I've found no need to change the height of the HiRise after initially setting it. The height adjustment is a little bit moot assuming the mStand is at the right height; if not then the HiRise might be more useful. The HiRise looks the part, but the price is my main complaint. I am sure it could be priced a more affordable amount, but as with most things associated with Apple it seems a little inflated.

Not worth the price tag…
Badly mad. Not worth £80. Cool design with the Mag Safe inclusion - which works perfectly. But the whole item is quite wobbly and stiff to use? Expected better for this price and something Apple officially endorsed.

Slip free and adjustable
It’s a bit ‘wonky’ as other reviewers have written BUT I find that being able to move it left or right and press down on either side of my laptop to configure it so it is level is a bt if an advantage when working on a desk with multiple monitors and laptops that all have their own level.I think I prefer the fact that you can bend the supporting structure a bit to fit the environment compared to the previous stands I have had that are 100% solid and fixed.Importantly it is slip-free and works with a laptop cooler fan as well as a laptop on top of it.Totally slip free - don’t worry about the other reviewers that had photos of their laptops on the floor! To change the height is a bit cranky... but how many times will you do this? Once you have chosen the height you want this thing won’t be moving up or down it’s solid and tight.

Extremely overpriced
For the price you'd expect the best dock out there. The truth is that it doesn't offer any improvements over most cheaper docks, and while it looks decent, the build quality isn't up to standard. My particular unit wobbles quite considerably and the height mechanism is incredibly stiff.

Helps with cooling mac, looks fantastic and is well made. Expensive but worth every penny.
Really smart product which compliments the style of the Macbook. I purchased this because a colleagues mac was overheating due to having two monitors plugged into it all day long when he was in the office. The stand has a heatsink style material on top of it to draw heat away from the mac in a very strategic position. Also, because there is limited contact around the base of the mac it allows air to circulate nicely around the base of the machine which also helps with cooling. This was definitely a good investment; a smart and well made product.

Sturdy, well made but expensive
This is a superbly made stand. Very sturdy and supports my 16in Mac really well. There are a couple of additions from the previous version that improve it considerably. The returns on the arms now stop the computer slipping off as it did previously and allow much better location. The rubber is thick and non marking and stop any scratching to the base. The stand is however very expensive, even though its well made. The new addition of a Magsafe charging pad is totally pointless, adding cost and although great in theory, is nearly inaccessible with a laptop on top! It also, for the money, does not include the magsafe charger, so you have to spend another £35 for that. The Magsafe does not really work that well either. If you have a case on the phone, it struggles to align having to go through the case and the rubber! Bit of a mixed bag really!!!

I did not slip up buying this!
Just purchased and received this stand and it's excellent I am using a 15" MBP on it and despite what other reviewers have posted the computer is firmly on the stand and does not slip at all.The material on the top of the arms holds it firmly in place.UPDATE December 2017Still using the stand every day, so far it's had a 15" mid 2012 MacBook Pro, a 2016 13" MacBook Pro on it and currently a 2017 15" MacBook Pro on it. None have slipped and it continues to function. I use a wired Apple Keyboard and Smart Mouse with it.
