I really wanted a pair of reading glasses that were convenient to carry.These are so light and compact that the case slips into the breast pocket of a shirt and is sturdy enough for use in a trouser pocket.The glasses are comfortable to wear, look good, and perform perfectly optically.In one day several friends at work have taken details because they want some the same.

The glasses are of good quality, and are an excellent piece of design. The hinge assembly at either side rotates through 90 degrees, so, as the side pieces are flat ie do not wrap around the ear, the spectacles fold virtually flat once the sides pivot.The weak point, and the reason for the poor review (and the complaint to Amazon, who dealt with it well), is that the case, which is needed to keep the spectacles flat (otherwise they spring back to their normal position) has design weaknesses, and is not fit for purpose.This is mentioned in other bad reviews here. I had assumed the manufacturer would have seen these, and addressed the problem. Sadly, they haven't.The weaknesses are as follows:1. The two hinges are held together by short metal pins.. These are just a sliding fit, only friction holds them in place. So, guess what, after a few openings they slide out, unnoticed, and get lost. The case is then unusable.2. The clip at the front is just a plastic strip with attached hook - this is pushed in to disengage the hook from a corresponding ridge in the upper part of the case. The mechanism just about works the first few times it's operated, but, with use, more and more pressure needs to be applied to free the hook. The case is so slim that it is very difficult to grip the two halves, whilst simultaneously pushing ever harder on the clip, to open the case. Eventually the case won't open at all.The case is essential to enjoy the main benefits of these (cleverly designed and well built) glasses. Unforrtunately it really is not up to the job.

Read Optics offer quality reading glasses. I have used them before and hope to use them again. The glasses and case fit perfectly in the pocket and you don’t notice them there. The glasses are reasonably sturdy and the design is brilliant. Previously I was using their glasses that fold in half and slide into the case. They were good but you had to get them out and build them before use. These, you just open the case and put them on.

Good idea and well enough made however they are fiddly to put on as they hinge flat on each side when you dont want them to then tricky to keep flat when putting away.

Loved these, light weight and i really like the folding design, they really are flat when in the case. The only minor thing is my case is broken but the glasses are great !

Quality at a very reasonable price I highly recommend them they are very clear also , I’m a gas engineer and use them for working on boilers as I can’t see things closer than 15 inches as clear any more , in a brilliant little case for convenience, the person who has made these has put a lot of thought into them , well done you 👍👍

Useless and can not be returned. Not acceptable
