Does The Job for a Good Price

I had kind of always wanted one of these to reduce the number of hands needed when taking measurements. One hand to hold the meter, your other hand to hold the red lead, and your other other hand to hold the black lead.I have meters and probes with alligator clips, but I still always end up propping up the meter somewhere wobbly or where I can't really see it.But this was finally such a good price that I had to try one of these pen-type meters, and I am very happy with another very inexpensive but quite accurate traditional meter from the same manufacturer (Zotek ZT102, I believe, although BSide seems to be rebranding them and is the best seller of those meters on Amazon . https://www.amazon.com/BSIDE-ZT102-Auto-Ranging-Capacitance-Temperature/dp/B07D1M5Y2C).The Good: It really does let me do the job with one less hand. The display is large and generally quite readable. It seems reasonably accurate for a low-end multimeter. (The resistance shows 0.1 or 0.2 ohms when I short the leads together, which I could probably calibrate out, but this is typical for a cheap meter.) . It's compact enough that I usually have it with me.The Bad: The alligator clip attachment for the black wire is flimsy and prone to coming off. It took me a while to figure out the "button down/button up" selection of voltage ranges. The display is fairly soft plastic, and getting scratched pretty quickly in my tool bag/pocket. I can't figure out when the backlight (which I like a lot!) decides to be on or off. It's an autoranging multimeter, right? So why do I get "OL" (Overload, I think it must mean) on 15 volts? It turns out that it has a separate "millivolt" range that is easy to accidentally select by pressing a button on the end of the row of 4 buttons. Now that I have that figured out, I'm OK with it. I *shouldn't* have to read the manual, but I'm not going to complain too much about needing to. (I still didn't.)I'm spoiled by iPhone displays. Super hard glass that a pocket full of change and keys don't scratch. This is not that display. It's brushed up against other tools in my bag, and coins and keys in my pocket a few times and it is definitely getting scratched. I could probably put it in a velvet bag or something to keep the display perfect, but I can just be a little more careful, and as soon as I figure out how to keep the backlight on when I'm using it, a few scratches won't even be visible. It would be nice if the buttons were recessed a bit so I didn't accidentally push them when holding the meter. Or else if there was a great place to hold the meter that was nowhere near the buttons. All in all, I'm glad it's in my tool bag.

I love it. It's a bargain and it has become my go-to meter even though a have a great many others. Just buy it.

This thing is fabulous and do not judge it by the price. It is a generic product sold by a number of Chinese companies although obviously engineered and manufactured by one company (so buy the cheapest if all is the same). The basis for my judgement is that I have a number of pen type multimeter and a good number of regular multimeters, some quite expensive. I also have two degrees in electrical engineering and have been doing this stuff for fifty years. I found the quality to be better than my other pen multimeters, which cost more, It has more functions and a very large backlit 6000 display which set it apart. I check the voltage accuracy against a five digit lab multimeter and it was spot on. The quality of the ground lead and probe is excellent and it uses a standard meter type banana plug or you change it to another type if you like (it's not hardwired like some). It is a little fat but fits nice in the hand. It comes with a nice case which can be handy to protect the screen (or just leave the plastic on). The voltage detector function is interesting. It is quite sensitive (although not super sensitive like some expensive voltage sensors) and reads out a measurement giving the size of the electromagnetic field detected. Unlike, a number of name brand voltage detectors, the unit will sense 12 VAC and 24 VAC for checking outdoor lighting, irrigation, and HVAC wiring. It will detect 115 VAC through sheetrock. The manual is actually in English and readable. One thing negative or taking used to is how you select functions. Rather than a dial or such, it uses two buttons. One selects one of two groups of functions and the other button selects which function is desired with the function set chosen by the other button. Actually pretty easy which you play with it a bit. Has a good flashlight for measurement in dark areas (and a hold function) and an excellent backlight which, once turned on, stays on until it shuts off. Has auto shutoff along with a warning. The AC is also true RMS which most of the others do not have. Uses two AAA batteries, not expensive 9 volt batteries. In fact, I love it so much that I bought a second one. Lastly, this is a real review. I don't know the company and I paid the Amazon price without any discount or commission..

Useless

Nothing worked. Wanted the non contact mode, didn’t work. I am an engineer and the rest of the meters are useless when you already have multimeter. Useless for my purposes. I returned it.

With proper marketing this might be a really popular item

Whoever was responsible for creating the video to promote this item should be fired. I don’t say those words lightly, but I just bought your competition because there are videos much much much better. It actually feature of the item and what features what’s special about it and what it could do. Your ass was just like a 15 seconds to say the name of your company. I learned absolutely nothing about the product. I hope you don’t have to pay for that, because if you did you got ripped off.
