The most basic possible strain gauge amplifier!
This works fine as a strain sensor that can be powered from a readily-available 5V, e.g. the 5V output of an Arduino.These boards are widely available online but there is no data for them anywhere, and no data at all comes with the board! Here's what I have been able to work out:The board comes with a strain gauge pre-soldered. Just glue it to a surface with superglue.It uses an LM358 which is a cheap and noisy op-amp, not a proper low noise load cell amp.The strain gauge is wired in a quarter-bridge configuration with 3x 360 ohm resistors. Since the gauge resistance is 350 ohms that's a huge imbalance. The pot on the board is for zeroing out the voltage offset - it allows you to set the output at zero strain to somewhere within the op-amp's working range (0 - 3V). Note - there is no gain (span) adjustment.The device works fine for detecting large amounts of strain on a part but don't expect to be able to measure force with any accuracy because noise and temperature drift will be an issue.
