Long and Strong, great for long Casting.
I love the Look and Feel if this 11ft Long Spining Rod: Longitude. The attention to detail is Excellent. The Guides are Double-Footed for extra strength. The Cork Handle is Smooth and well placed. I will use this Rod Mostly for Surf Fishing. I have now Purchased "another 11ft Longitude" This Rod is too good to pass up. Get one. UPDATE:Second one arrived Damaged in Three places: Connecting Joint, bottom Pealing or chipped; Guide missing, First guide Secomd half, and Chipped Guide insert, Bottom pole. If Dicks Sporting Goods had this Pole, "It would save me a lot of hazels...ordering and returning." Shipping is the Root of the Cause for damages. I would love to get one without issues.

Bag lookeked open.
UPDATE 5/11 I requested a new pole be sent out, the new pole was in 10/10 shape. Definitely recommend. Only took 2 days to get to me.First review. The poll overall is very solid. Lightweight yet sturdy, you can tell the quality is there. The whole rod looks slick and very eye-catching. I have not fished with cork handles in over 25 years so, I can't say how will feel or not. Being lightweight it does feel great to hold. The CON is simple whoever is over-quality control, and order fulfillment goes back to training.

incorrect rod specs on Okuma's site...
Buyer beware if you are buying the 9 foot spinning model; it will not be what is listed on Okuma's site.Ordered the LC-S-902H-1 and Amazon shipped this quickly (although rods should be shipped in tubes, NOT rectangular boxes). Lucky it did not suffer damage.Rod quality seems good, although the specs for what I thought was buying are not what the actual rod shows. On Okuma's site (at the time of this writing) is that it is rated for 15-40 pound line and 1-4 oz lure weight rating. OK, that is what I wanted. What I got was rod with the same model # and 20-40 pound line rating and 3-6 oz lure rating listed on the blank. This rod also feels heavier than the 18oz weight listed (going to weight it on a scale to confirm). The action / taper is also faster. I recall handling this same blank at a local store and remember this rating to be true to what is currently shown on their site and not what is on this blank.Called Okuma to ask about the discrepancy with the ratings for this rod. The rep was very helpful and looked into it right away. He took the lot number off of the rod to bring to product development then called me back. Claim was that their site was incorrect and what is on the rod as I'm seeing is correct. Convenient for them but not helpful to me. I don't want this rod and now will have to pay 30-35 percent of the cost of the product to ship it back to amazon. Specs are replicated to many dealer sites so can't believe that I'm the first one finding this issue for the 9 footer.I have purchased several Okuma products and they are mostly good value. However, when this kind of stuff happens, your time and money are wasted.Okuma, if you are reading this, you lost a customer. I buy 2-3 rods and 2-3 reels a year and your name will not be on any I buy going forward.

good rod all in all.worth the money
good value.light to handle. slightly weak with casting a long distance possibly because it has no forefinger handle & because it overbends with a cast ( so don't use > 4 oz sinker) but not a big issue. used it on 2 fishing trips to a fishing pier in Galveston TX:1- caught a 40 lb black drum, handled very well extreme pressure, even though I pushed it & got the fish in 3-4 min so constant heavy pressure with an agressive fish that was not tired yet.It looked like a C with that fish, occasionally the tip was close to touching the rod above the reel & never broke.(impressive to say the least)2- an 8 pound red fish handled with ease.several sand trouts in both trips. that showed that it's sensitive to strikes even with smaller fish I threw back (< 1 lb).in summary this rod is good for medium heavy fishing(off pier), may be less than 50 lbs with a medium sized sinker.

Exactly what I ordered
I purchased this rod to use for casting crab snares. I'll may need to update this review after I have had a chance to use the rod. Since this rod is rated to cast 8 ounces, this should meet my needs. The long butt handle will make it easy for casting into the surf.Update (7/12/2024): When setting up the rig for the first time there were two obvious flaws with the rod I received. First, the aluminum oxide insert for the tip guide was totally missing. This leaves just a metal guide with a sharp edge that will fray and/or cut the line. Second, the guide insert on the largest guide was chipped. Since there were no loose pieces in the box when the rod arrived, I assume the rod was shipped with these flaws. This was marketed as a new rod; not a damaged rod.

Great warranty
The good the bad and the good.Excellent surf rod at a great price. Light weight and worth the money. The bad, amazon or its seller have been sending rods with bad tips where the ceramic is broken or in many cases non existent. I replaced mine myself and used it for a solid year before the tip snapped on either a good size fish or a good size wreck. The good news is okuma replaced the top section under warranty.Overall a good experience.

Quality Rod for the Price
I bought this rod not to surf fish but to bank fish for muskies/pike. I wanted a rod to give me extra casting distance from the banks/shores of lakes, rivers, docks, and peers. I purchased the 12 ft version and paired it with a Shimano 8000 series spinning reel and I am more than happy with my casting results. It casts 1.5 oz baits out very nicely. I have landed a several 10 pound range pikes and it did great. The rod came in a stiff cardboard box that was about 6.5 feet long, wrapped in a plastic sleeve supported with a few of those air pocket thingamajiggers to keep it stable. I have an ugly stick in this size and very similar, but the rod end action is not stiff enough to set hooks for what im trying to do. I found this rod to be pretty stiff and excellent for working bucktails.
