I grew up close to Michael McDonald in St. Louis, did not know him personally but always been a fan. Friends s of his played together when he was only twelve. After going to McCluer North High Schoo in North County in St. Louis, his parents knew he was so talented they move him to LA, and after a few years, we were all shocked when he was on one of the early Steely Dan Albums. The rest is history, one of the best voices still to date, and a great songwriter and a very nice gentleman from what I have heard. He used to come back for many years and play with his friends from high school in the band "Blue" for our Ferguson-Florissant days during many summers. It's not too often you get an excellent musician, and the reputation of an excellent individual, Michael McDonald never disappoints over the last 50 years.

This collection is the best of the best -- there are 19 tunes you can enjoy while taking a walk down memory lane.Some of my personal favorites include ON MY OWN with Miss Patti LaBelle -- this song never fails to bring a tear to my eye and a shiver down my spine. SWEET FREEDOM is also a great one. Then, of course, there's TAKIN' IT TO THE STREETS, YOU BELONG TO ME, REAL LOVE, IT KEEPS YOU RUNNIN', and MINUTE BY MINUTE with the Doobie Brothers.If you love these great songs and the Doobies and Michael McDonald -- this is a sure bet for you. Ever since I received this I haven't taken it out of my CD player in my car. Then, when I get home, out it comes and I play it in the house. It is just that great.ENJOY!
