A Very Capable Scan Tool with Excellent Features at a Good Price (Get it while you still can!)
Definitively a keeper. As a DIYer I recommend this tool. Thinkcar continues to make great strides! It takes around 3 minutes to perform a full vehicle (smart) scan. In terms of features, except for J2534 Pass-Thru programming, this is a full blown scanner and a very capable tool for what you pay. Setup was a fairly straight forward to perform. Must follow important VCI activation and software/firmware updates to obtain full functionality. Must also go into 'Upgrade' to finalize downloading of all factory software updates. The tablet is sturdy and seems well made. I will say depending on your needs and wants Thinkcar also provides simpler and cheaper options, such as the ThinkDiag scan tool which I have also owned since 2020. ThinkDiag is also bi-directional with a Bluetooth VCI and is also an excellent value. The ThinkDiag consists of just the VCI dongle that interfaces with your Android device and retails for around 10% the cost of this tablet, however, you must also pay around $40 yearly renewal cost for each factory software which is of course a requirement for bi-directional (sometimes they give a two for one). Thinkcar also came out with the ThinkDiag 2. Now back this tablet: Following were key attributes that motivated into buying this scan tool 1) Reasonable cost for what it provides and broad compatibility 2) Bi-directional capability (actuations - resets) 3) Wi-Fi / Bluetooth connectivity (very important) note: this android 10 tool provides no internet browser 4) Topological mapping (this is a must have – once you've seen in use, can't do without it) 5) Graphing data stream (another super useful feature), and 6) 2-year free factory software updating. Thinkcar Tech is a company based in Shenzhen, China with presence in Ontario, California https://thinkcarus.com/ If you want to see what this tablet can do and features watch Ivan Temnykh's YouTube channel Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics. To the best of my knowledge, the ThinkTool tablet has 3 versions: Pro, Pros and Pros+. I believe Pro utilizes a smaller 8-inch tablet (about $146 less). The Pros+ I believe adds a J2534 Pass-Thru functionality for about $863 more. Other interesting scan tools in my short list were: LAUNCH X431 PAD V, the TOPDON Phoenix Elite and the TOPDON Phoenix Smart. If you want to get into J2534, I suggest you look into the Launch and TOPDON products instead which provide at least some Pass-Thru functionality. I believe Thinkcar Platinum S10 provides same features as this tool. I have noticed a lot of similarities between ThinkCar, Launch, Autel / Otofix and TOPDON products and believe these brands are either all made by the same company or at least share a lot in terms of software and parts. The software never expires and you are not forced to renew every year. You would only pay the $500 software renewal premium if in the future you wanted to upgrade to make tool compatible with present year vehicles. Recommendations to Thinkcar: Thank you for making a broad range of scan tools for both professionals and DIYers. I wish in addition to full blown $500 software package you would also offer other less costly packages such as more specific coverage, say for just Japanese vehicles, or just American, or just European, etc. #2 It somewhat confusing to understand differences between your scan tool models. I wish you would make it easier to find comparison table depicting all scan tools, breaking down all their features to make it easier to compare and decide what you want. Thank you and keep up the great work! I hope this helps!

Great Scanner for the Money
The Thinktool Pros is a great scanner for the advanced level technician who is looking for a true Bi-Directional Scan Tool that can work on any car.The Data List and Graphing Feature is outstanding and the Active Tests that can be done are on par with factory scan tools. This scanner is equivalent to the Tool Truck scanners that cost several thousands more.If you're doing side jobs or running a mobile business this is the tool to use.So far I have used it on domestic and Japanese vehicles with great success. Waiting for my first Euro job, and I'll see what it does on those brands.

This is an awesome diagnostic scanner
Worked on a variety of different vehicles in my stable. Would absolutely buy this scanner if you are looking for the next level diagnostic scanner. Was even able to add a key for a 2012 Honda Odyssey into the immobilizer system. Had unprogrammed key from a prior issue sitting in toolbox. Only thing left to do was go to locksmith and have them add key to system. Was never a “good” time. Was looking around the menus of scanner and saw it might be possible to add the key with the thinktool pros. Lo and behold, 5 minutes later I had a 3rd for my van working like a champ.

This Scanner is Worth The Money!!!
I was looking for a scanner to back up my Snap-On Verus and It needed to have bidirectional control, programming, coding, and relearning capabilities, I came across ThinkCar and it caught my attention. I saw the price and bought it without hesitation and with a few diagnostics and repairs, it paid for itself. Now this is my Go-To scanner and the expensive Snap-On scanner is now on the bench waiting to be tagged in. Highly Recommended for Professional Mechanics and Advanced DIYers.

Incorrect mileage values on reports
I really wanted to like this scanner...Fast ID of vehicles, the Topology feature is great, though a lot of other Launch-based scanners will also have this feature. The irritating part I couldn't put up with was that the mileage printed on the reports was incorrect. It would display, here in the US, and set for Imperial measures, the mileage in kilometers with a miles label. ie a vehicle with 120,000, miles would display 193121 miles. Granted, you could overwrite that, on the report, but no other scanner I have used, showed this fault. Reports are important and time is important. Back and forth with support, and they could not see a problem. Sorry, this isn't normal!I really liked the "email the report" to me. It was instantaneous, and the report was in my inbox. I could not find a way to print to our local printer. On my Autel, this is no problem.I had to return this scanner and was very pleased with Amazon's quick refund. On a side note... My Cornwell tool distributor just loaned me his 8" Thinktool, to see if it exhibited this issue. It does! I also noted that on a random GM car, the mileage was correct, in PIDs, but the mileage output,in the report, was blank... odd, to say the least, as other GM vehicles showed the same km to miles issue.A good scanner if this issue isn't a problem for you.

Great Tool but…
This tool is great, however it does not have an internet browser. So, I have to take my laptop to access the internet. This can be frustrating if I am away from my shop.I recently discovered that Thinkcar does have a scanner that includes a web browser. Approximately, this costs about $200 more. Had I known at the time I would have purchased the upgraded version. But, I give this scanner five stars !

Worked well on my 2014 Caddlic CTS
I had some problems getting the device to register on manufactures web site. A call to tech support got me registered and allowed a firmware upgrade. It has worked perfectly since then.
