Q: has anyone used this mounting block for a dryer vent exhaust?

That sounds like a great idea but you would have to change the purpose of the siding block by cutting out the 4" diameter center which this product was not designed for. It might lose it's rigidity, however, if you do choose to change the product from its intended purpose, then I would check to see if the outside of the vent frame does not overlap the mounting block. If you get this to work, send in a pic and don't forget to seal to make it raintight.

Dear customer, this siding mounting kit with built-in electrical box is super easy and fast to install on Vinyl siding. 1.Drill the hole through the siding lap to put a wire through the hole outside. 2.Remove the knock-out from the electrical box and insert the cable connector into the hole. 3.Put the wire through the cable connector and mount the box up with the included couple srcews. 4.Put the outside light in place on the electrical box. Suitable for 4 inch height of the Vinyl Siding with double 1/2 inch width lap siding surface.

Dear customer, this siding mounting block is made of solid and durable plastic material. You may also paint the fixture to finish with your desired colors to match the color with your vinyl siding or just fine left with its natural off-white color.
